Library Locator Mapping

To the Bicol Region Librarians,

In pursuance of the government’s efforts in promoting a reading culture in the country, the Department of Education, in partnership with the National Book Development Board (NBDB) and the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI), is initiating the Library Locator Mapping in the regions, divisions, districts, and schools.

This activity aims to:

  1. identify and locate all the existing libraries in schools and offices all over the country;
  2. consolidate the list through the regional offices of all existing libraries and input the data in the DepEd’s Geographic  Information System (GIS) for easy accessibility through the Internet; and
  3. encourage the school administrators to enhance their learning resource centers to encourage the habit of reading among their students.

In line with this, the Bicol Region Librarians Council is seeking your utmost response and to obediently and honestly answer this online request for the success of this Library Locator Mapping Project in the Bicol Region.
