World Bank Philippines donated 60 used system units (5 years old) and 12 monitors to libraries damaged by Typhoon Yolanda through the One Million and Counting Project of the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI).  World Bank responded to the Call for Action sent out by PLAI President, Elizabeth Peralejo, shortly after Yolanda wreaked havoc in Eastern Visayas. These computers were collected from the World Bank Offices with Ms. Susan Pador (PLAI-National Board of Trustees Treasurer) and some of her staff from the Rizal Library of Ateneo de Manila.  These donated computers will be then sent to PLAI Easter Visayas Regional Librarians Council President, Ms. Chona B. Rama of St. Scholastica’s College in Tacloban while waiting for identified libraries to receive them.
