PLAI-NBOT Board of Trustee and PLAI Western Visayas Regional Librarians Council President, Stephen B. Alayon was recently given the 2013 ASLP Citation Award for Research Excellence at the Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines 60th General Assembly and Induction Ceremonies held at the Supreme Court of the Philippines on 16 January 2014. Below is the citation of said award:
The 2013 Awards Committee confers STEPHEN B. ALAYON the 2013 ASLP Citation Award for Research Excellencefor his remarkable research contribution in the field of marine and aquatic librarianship. He has published numerous articles from known international refereed journals. His research contribution through collaboration transcends in many speaking engagements locally and internationally. He has been a strong supporter of open access, institutional repositories and Web 2.0. His continued support and enormous dedication for special libraries and library associations can be seen in his daily communication in social media sites.
