PLAI CONGRESS 2025
The Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI), in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) through the National Committee on Library and Information Services (NCLIS), the National Library of the Philippines (NLP), and the Medical and Health Association of the Philippines (MAHLAP), will hold its Annual National Congress and General Assembly from November 23 to 26, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City.
With the theme, “PLAI BRIDGES: Borderless. Research-based. Innovative. Developmental. Global. Equitable. Sustainable”, this year’s PLAI National Congress objectives are the following:
Borderless: The project aims to strengthen the network of librarians from diverse backgrounds and locations, enabling them to share experiences, challenges, and best practices beyond borders;
Research-based: The project aims to facilitate the sharing of library experiences in organizing, acquiring, disseminating, and providing access to information and other resources that are evidence- or research-based;
Innovative: The project aims to present the latest technologies, methods, and other innovations in library and information services that librarians can explore in designing their respective services to enhance the quality and value of their libraries;
Developmental: The project aims to inculcate a growth mindset and support continuing professional development among librarians by encouraging their participation to various sessions and workshops, which can lead to new opportunities for research collaboration, learning, and innovation;
Global: The project aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas by connecting librarians from various sectors, career stages, genders, and across borders; and,
Equitable: The project aims to facilitate equitable access and inclusive services by presenting library initiatives that enhance access to information and resources for underserved communities.
Sustainable: The project aims to share sustainable library practices and services and address the challenge of the sustainable development goals.
Requests for DepEd Advisory, CSC Announcement, and CHED Memo are being processed. PLAI National Congress 2025 is also being applied for as a CPD Program.
